Audi adds Google Maps service

Date: 16 December 2009   |   Author: Tristan Young

BMW has lost its exclusivity on Google Maps following Audi's addition of the function which allows users to send an address directly from the website to a car's satnav system.

For the past three years, as part of the ConnectedDrive system, BMW owners have been able to use the time-saving system exclusively. Now Audi has added the service in readiness for the introduction of the new A8.

The service should become fully operational for Audi in the UK within a couple of months of the launch of the all-new luxury car in May 2010.

The service will be free for Audi A8 customers, according to a spokesman for the brand. The spokesman added the system will be rolled out to other cars in the range as they are facelifted or with all-new introductions.
