Audi confirms 99g/km A3

Date: 24 December 2009

Audi is launching a 99g/km version of the A3, making it the first premium brand to get under the 100g/km CO2 emission point.

The A3 will be available in three-door form only from April, and with just the one specification level with a price of £18,005.

Power comes from a 105PS 1.6-litre diesel with an economy figure of 74.3mpg, and equipment includes manual air conditioning and 15-inch alloy wheels rather than the A3's standard 16-inch version.

Revisions to the 99g/km include gear ration tweaks, reduced ride height, aerodynamic modifications and the smaller wheels. The higher-spec SE, Sport and S-line A3 1.6 TDIe models will continue at the current 109g/km and 68.9g/km.
