Carillion signs Peugeot to cut van emissions

Date: 10 June 2009

Peugeot has won a 200-van contract with Carillion that will see the property services firm cut its emissions 7% and reduce fuel bills by £500 a week.

"The vans - which include the compact Peugeot Bipper, mid-size Partner and larger Expert, plus full-size Boxer panel vans complete with reversing cameras - have been supplied on a four-year contract hire with maintenance agreement by Carillion Fleet Management," said a Peugeot spokesman.

"All are fitted with speed limiters and tracking systems, which are helping drive down fuel bills by up to seven per cent, while at the same time boosting driver safety. The sole badge contract is designed to simplify service procedures and replace the company's current range of mixed size Vauxhall and Ford vans, some of which are now five years old."
