Drink-drive laws under review

Date: 24 September 2009

The Government is working to collate the evidence needed to decide whether a lower drink-drive limit would help reduce casualties.

Parliamentary under-secretary Chris Mole said the new evidence will be reviewed in the course of finalising the Government's Road Safety Strategy beyond 2010.

The present limit is under review amid claims that a cut to the legal blood-alcohol level could help reduce drink-drive accidents.
