Drivers failing to secure valuables

Date: 18 December 2009

More than half of drivers parking at motorway service stations or in city centres leave items such as laptops, satnav systems, MP3 players or mobile phones in their vehicles, according to a new survey.

Supercover Insurance said most drivers didn't realise that their possessions may not be covered under their car insurance policy.

The firm also found that only 22 of the 119 drivers surveyed had backed-up the content of the equipment in question.
