Drivesense wins VW Group training deal

The VW group has expanded and refined its employee driver-training programme.
The group started training its employees in 2005, and has now restructured the procedure. Following a tendering process, training company Drivesense has come in to take over from Rospa.
VW is putting approximately 240 employees through the on-road training during 2009, with most of the courses being run from its Milton Keynes headquarters.
Drivesense was chosen due to its ability to deal with the whole process - including the administration and after care - and its provision of a tailored training programme.
The training will focus on six categories of VW employees - drivers with multiple accidents, those with more than six points on their licence, young employees, new foreign employees, drivers identified as high risk and those who expressed an interest in training.
Drivesense will also train employees to incorporate eco-driving, as VW aims to reduce its fuel useage by 10-15%.
