Date: 14 September 2009

Keith Hawes

Renault's long-standing fleet and commercial vehicle sales director Keith Hawes is leaving the French company at the end of this week.

A statement from the manufacturer said Hawes "wants to pursue other interests, focusing his career in a different direction to utilise fully his skills and experience." Hawes, a former weekly BusinessCar blogger and regular in the BusinessCar Power List of 50 most influential people in fleet, has held the fleet and CV boss position for the last decade as part of his 21 years at Renault, having been with Ford for the previous 12.

His replacement is Darren Payne, who takes up the reigns from 1 October when he moves from General Motors, where he was used vehicle sales, marketing and operations director for GM UK and Ireland, having previously worked as director of GM UK Leasing and national fleet sales manager.

Renault UK managing director Ronald Bouchara said: "I would like to thank Keith for his dedication, commitment and integrity. He has made an invaluable comtribution to the company and I know that I echo the sentiments of everyone at Renault when I wish him success in his future career.
