Former Lex boss resurfaces

Date: 22 December 2009

"People are talking about extending lease contracts but not yet doing it. I thought it would have happened by now," says Jon Walden, Lex

The former boss of the industry's biggest leasing firm has re-emerged, with Jon Walden confirmed to join the board of car dealer group HR Owen at the beginning of 2010.

Walden was the chief executive of the UK's biggest leasing company Lex for a decade prior to its merger with Lloyds TSB Autolease earlier this year, a development that coincided with his departure.

He will now take on the role of non-executive chairman from 1 January 2010.

Ramon Pajares, acting Chairman of HR Owen, said: "Jon has a wealth of experience in both the motor and other industries, and we are delighted to welcome him to the Board."
