HR Focus: Business expenses

Unlike MPs' bosses, 84% of business owners always closely scrutinise expenses claims, with 37% claiming to have spotted staff claiming expenses they didn't incur, mileage they didn't travel or excessive costs, according to a new survey.

Insurer Premierline Direct carried out the research. Managing director Chris Little said: "In the current climate where every penny counts, establishing good practice extends to monitoring all operating costs."
