Leaseplan hosts future of fleet forums

Date: 29 January 2009

Leasing company Leaseplan has announced it is hosting a series of debates on the future of the fleet industry.

Professor Peter N C Cooke, professor of automotive management at the University of Buckingham, will chair the programme, called Fleet 2020. Key representatives from some of the UK's largest fleets, the BVRLA and the Energy Saving Trust are expected to attend. The aim is to accurately depict the business travel situation of the year 2020.

There are currently four meetings scheduled for 2009, focussing on green issues, business travel costs, the company car's role and needs of the fleet driver.

The debates are to be held in locations around the country, with the first of the four on 25 March. It is anticipated that more meetings will be added to the schedule in due course.

Prof Cooke has written an introduction to the scheme that can be downloaded via a Fleet 2020 branded link on the Leaseplan website - www.leaseplan.co.uk.
