Lombard bolsters large fleet business

Lombard Vehicle Management has strengthened its strategic accounts team with two new directors.
Peter Butler joins the team which handles Lombard's major accounts from VW as development director. And Ian Banks joins the team as a relationship director from Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank.
The move follows Lombard's decision to pull-out of the broker market earlier this year. However, a Lombard spokesman was keen to point out that these appointments did not mean a change in focus away from small-fleet business.
Lombard's head of strategic accounts, Peter Crabtree, said: "The appointments give us invaluable extra experience encompassing the motor and finance sectors. This is clear evidence of our commitment to the market as we look to grow our business by providing unique expertise and focus for customers in an increasingly complex fleet market."
Lombard Vehicle Management's strategic accounts department now has a team of 20 staff.
