The start point for the best source of fleet information

McNally confirmed as BVRLA chariman

Date: 19 May 2009

As exclusively revealed by BusinessCar on 7 April, Kevin McNally is the new chairman of the BVRLA.

McNally will chair the organisation which represents the rental and leasing industry for two years and takes over from Nigel Stead.

McNally, LeasePlan's regional senior vice-president for Northern Europe and the Americas, was officially appointed at the association's Annual General Meeting on 14 May. He has more than 20 years experience in fleet sales, having worked for Lex, Rover and Nissan. He joined LeasePlan in 2001.

"The BVRLA has grown from strength to strength under Nigel's chairmanship and I hope to build upon his legacy by further raising the association's profile and increasing its relevance for all members, big and small," said McNally.

"There are some major challenges facing all our businesses, but I am confident that at the end of my two-year stint I will be able to report back on an industry that is stronger and more innovative than ever."

Three new representatives were elected to the BVRLA committee of management at the AGM;

* Nigel Martin, new chairman of the commercial vehicle committee and commercial vehicle sales director of Ryder

* David Brennan, new chairman of the leasing and fleet management committee and managing director of LeasePlan UK

* David Alexander, chairman of the rental committee and operations director of Europcar

The leasing broker committee also has a new chairman, with Mike Lloyd of Central Contracts replacing Neva Consultants' Graham Prince.
