MD leaves GE Fleet ahead of cuts

Date: 07 April 2009

Rich Green has left his role as GE Fleet Services boss, to be replaced by John Jenkins.

The move comes as parent GE Capital looks to cut costs.

GE Fleet saw a slight drop in its number of lease cars last year, down 1000 to a 40,000-strong fleet.

GE Fleet said: "Jeff Immelt, GE chief executive, has previously stated GE Capital will become a smaller operation to reflect the market conditions and ensure we're well placed to grow.

"We do not provide detail or have targets for headcount reduction in any market but can confirm that GE Capital is committed to saving $2 billion [£1.4bn] in costs globally during 2009, which will include a combination of both indirect costs/external spend and headcount reduction."

Green is understood to have moved to a new role within GE.
