The start point for the best source of fleet information

Mitsubishi electrifies the police

Date: 24 September 2009

Mitsubishi hopes more police fleets will follow the Met and order its electric iMiev as a city panda car.

The cars will join the Metropolitan Police as part of the Government's £25 million electric vehicle trial set for the next 12 months.

The Mitsubishi iMiev has a range of 100 miles and can be fully charged for 45p, however, low running costs are off-set by a high list price of between £20,000 and £25,000.

Versions of the electric Mitsubishi will also be sold by Peugeot and Citroen, both will be launched before the end of next year.
