Navman tracking helps overturn speeding ticket

Date: 23 November 2009

Tracking firm Navman Wireless has helped a building services van driver overturn a speeding ticket, after the technology proved he was only doing 48mph on the 50mph-limit A4174 near Bristol last November, rather than the 61mph the police had claimed he was travelling at.

"I'm an extremely careful driver and was certain I hadn't broken the law," said Gareth Powell of MD Building Services. "It was a great relief when Navman Wireless could confirm that I'd been driving within the speed limit and it gave me the confidence I needed to contest the Notice of Intended Prosecution."
