New fleet manager temping service launched

Date: 14 September 2009   |   Author: Tom Webster

Fleet Operations, a Cheshire-based fleet-management consultancy is launching a scheme that will offer fleet managers to companies on a temporary basis.

The scheme, called Fleet People, can place a manager into a company for an interim period or up to a full-time basis.

Fleet Operations' managing director Ross Jackson says the service is a nationwide one, but has the possibility of heading abroad. "It is potentially pan-European," he said.

Fleet People currently has 18 managers on its books that it can deploy to companies that wish to employ its services, but Jackson has not ruled out adding to this number.

"If we keep getting the level of enquiries then we will be interested in talking to more managers," he added.

"We can manage fleets remotely or take a position inside a client's business," said Jackson. The managers would work with existing members of staff and coach and mentor them to work with the fleet.

"With interim fleet management occurring for as little time or as long as required, we can provide leadership with a clear vision of the desired end."

The costs involved to the company would be vary depending on the role fulfilled by the incoming manager, but are expected to be largely similar to a recruitment agency.
