New Ford Fiestavan range topped by £10,780 Sportvan

Date: 13 March 2009

Ford has announced prices for its new Fiestavan, with the commercial vehicle version of the well-received new supermini starting at £9025 and topping out at £10,780.

Ford has settled on a range of three engines and three trim levels. The 82PS 1.3 petrol, 68PS 1.4 diesel and 90PS 1.6 diesel are available on standard and Trend trim levels, with the top diesel the only option for the range-topping Sportvan.

The Trend models get front fog lights, power-folding body-coloured door mirrors, trip computer and auto lights and wipers as part of the extra kit over the entry standard trim, while the Sportvan adds a body kit, alloys, Bluetooth, aircon, sports seats, extra airbags and ESP anti-skid control.

Payload ranges from 490 to 515kg, and a half-height composite bulkhead is standard on all models, along with tie-hooks in the load bay.

Ford claims a 1000cu/m load area, with 1296mm load length, 1278 width dropping to 1000mm between the wheel arches, and 806mm load height.

"Fiestavan is a main player in the car-derived van market with around 25% of all sales," said Ford commercial vehicle boss Steve Kimber. "We expect to build on this, as more and more of today's businesses look to keep their costs under control."

According to Ford, the petrol engine can achieve fuel economy of 49.6mpg and CO2 emissions of 133k/km, while both diesels are at 67.3mpg and 110g/km.
