New VW Golf Bluemotion hits 99g/km

VW has revealed details of its new ultra-efficient Golf Bluemotion which hits 99g/km and 74.3mpg.

Priced at £17,325, the new VW Golf Bluemotion is powered by the firm's 105PS 1.6-litre TDI engine and is only available in the S trim level.

The introduction of the new Bluemotion Golf will see the existing eco-model now be badged Bluemotion Technology but continue to be sold. This 107g/km car using the same 105PS engine will only be available in SE trim.

To get below 100g/km the new Bluemotion has longer gear ratios in third, fourth and fifth, more aerodynamic grille and lowered suspension.
