Phone-driving stats fail to fall

Date: 05 January 2009

Driving on the phone

There has only been a 6% drop in the use of handheld mobiles while driving since 2005, according to a survey by What Car? magazine.

The survey revealed 36% of motorists still admit to using a handheld mobile phone while driving their car, with a quarter saying they've done so in the past week.

The data sends a worring message to fleet managers to double check that their drivers are obeying guidance and not using a handheld mobile phone while driving.
