Police updates training manual

The Association of Chief Police Officers has updated its police driver training manual, which for the first time includes advice on eco driving as well as new modules on pursuit driving.
It also covers pre-driving checks, speed and vehicle control, emergency response, stress and attitude, hazard awareness and anticipation. A range of optional modules covers aspects such as police motorcycles, vans and people carriers.
The manual is designed to enable police force driving schools to create a course based on the national police driving standards and indicates how important economy is to all fleets.
