Renault tweaks the Clio

Date: 06 February 2009

Renault has given its Clio supermini a facial fine-tune and has launched a new sport-orientated 'GT' version.

The Clio's styling is brought in line with the new Renault Megane. The front end loses the V-shaped bonnet and instead gets a straighter grille with angular headlights.

At the back, the lights have been redesigned and repositioned.

TomTom is providing an updateable satnav to go into the new Clio. The new Carminat system works with an SD card and can be updated with the latest mapping, speed limit and speed camera information.

It is expected to be available as an option costing less than £500.

Renault has also announced the introduction of a GT model to the Clio range. It is characterised by an exclusive 'Malta Blue' colour and a new bodykit. A new engine and altered suspension settings are expected for the GT, but more information won't be released until the car makes its global debut at the motor show in Geneva in March.
