Rental rise for ING

Date: 12 March 2009

ING Car Lease is claiming a "significant" rise in the number of companies using rental vehicles.

In the past year, the firm said it has seen an 18% increase, due to more competitive rates and reduced administration as fleets use rental to meet duty of care obligations by giving employees rental cars rather than them using their own private vehicles.

"Over the last year we have seen a definite shift in attitude towards rental vehicles," said Michelle Wilson, ING Car Lease's head of rental services. "Whereas they were once seen as an expensive option to leasing, more competitive rates and reduced administration have made it far easier for fleet managers to consider rental as part of a wider solution to transport needs."
