Saab 9-5: First pictures

Saab has released pictures and details of its first new executive model since 1997.
The Swedish manufacturer, recently provisionally bought by Koenigsegg, is displaying the new executive saloon at September's Frankfurt motor show, though it won't be in the UK until next summer.
It is expected the new 9-5 will offer 5 different engines at launch, with two diesels and three petrols, one compatable with bioethanol, available. A 2.0TiD will be of most fleet interest, with CO2 emissions of 139g/km and a claimed average mpg of 53.3.
A second, twin-turbocharged diesel engine will also squeeze under the capital allowances barrier with a rating of 159g/km.
More details on the engines and the car's performance will be released at the Frankfurt show, but information on pricing and specification will be announced closer to the on sale date.
The styling remains loyal to the outgoing model, but also echoes the design of older Saabs such as the 900 coupe in aspects such as the rear boot line. The interior looks to have been updated as well, with an automatic handbrake and a heads-up display included.
