Seat releases Exeo ST estate pictures

Date: 11 February 2009

Seat has released the first pictures of the estate version of its new upper medium player, the Exeo.

Dubbed the ST, the load-carrying Exeo (pictured above) is due to go on sale in the summer and offers a boot capacity of 442 litres with the rear seats up. That compares with 519 litres for the Mazda 6 estate, one of the Exeo's key rivals as an alternative to the business car volume brands.

The Spanish firm is targeting fleets as the big opportunity for the Exeo, and more than half of sales will be the ST estate version.

The car promises to offer the same equipment and engine line-up as the saloon version. This means four trim levels - S, SE, Sport and SE Lux - and three engines: 2.0-litre 143 and 170PS diesels and the 200PS turbocharged petrol.

Seat has also shown off first pictures of the facelifted lower medium hatchback, the Leon (pictured right), and its mini-MPV Altea sibling.

In addition to a subtle facial refresh, two new engines make their way into the cars, the 170PS 2.0-litre common-rail diesel and a 211PS 2.0-litre petrol.

Seat has also made the badge on the front grille smaller, increased the size of its headlights and redesigned the wing mirrors on the two cars.

All three new models will make their public debut at March's Geneva motor show.
