Toyota Hilux power increased for 2010

Date: 14 December 2009

Toyota has given its Hilux a 20% power increase and revised equipment levels as a way of welcoming in the new year.

For 2010, the pick-up's 2.5-litre D-4D diesel will offer a 142PS output rather than the current 118PS, but with no impact upon CO2 emissions, which stay at 219g/km across the single, extra and double cab bodystyles.

The company has also improved the Hilux payload. The HL2-spec double cab's payload increases by 35kg, while its HL3 equivalent is up by 25kg, with both now sitting at 1110kg. The range line-up has been tweaked for simplification, and now runs from H2 to H3 and top-spec Invincible, the latter only offered with a 3.0-litre diesel engine and the other two with the new, more powerful 2.5-litre diesel replacing the old 2.5.

The Invincible trim level now has leather interior and satnav with Bluetooth on the options list for the first time, with the latter also available on the HL3 trim, while both trim levels are now offered with a sport deck load cover and urban pack, which consists of front and rear parking sensors, front guard and scuff plates.
