Vauxhall reveals police Astra at NAPFM show

Date: 11 September 2009

Vauxhall's all-new Astra in police livery was the star of the annual National Association of Police Fleet Manager's show this week.

The civilian version of the new Astra goes on sale later this year with the police version following in early 2010.

Vauxhall converts its police vehicles in-house at its Millbrook production facility so that it can offer a 'turnkey' car to police fleets.

GM UK Special Vehicles manager Dick Ellam, said: "The Astra is the backbone of many UK police fleets and has proven itself fit for purpose time and time again. With the introduction of the new Astra and the innovations this model brings we can offer even more to the police and emergency services."

Last year more than 900 police Astras were sold to UK forces.
