Venga to provide 'big car comfort'

Date: 26 August 2009

Kia has revealed its new supermini, due in the UK early next year.

The Venga will arrive with a choice of one diesel and two petrol engines, each with the firm's stop-start system.

Longer and higher than a Ford Fiesta, the Venga is claimed to offer interior space of a lower medium-sector car thanks to its longer wheelbase and clever packaging.

"This is exactly the kind of vehicle UK motorists are looking for as we emerge from the recent economic turmoil - a fantastically flexible package providing big-car comfort and space within a compact package," said Kia UK boss Michael Cole.

The car comes with a fold-flat sliding 60/40 split rear seat and twin-level boot floor. Higher trims will also get a tiltand-slide glass panoramic roof.
