VW Golf GTD revealed

VW has revealed details of the diesel version of its hot Golf GTI.

As revealed by BusinessCar in January, the car will be badged Golf GTD, and powered by VW's 170PS 2.0 TDI engine. The result is a car capable of 0-62mph in 8.1 seconds and economy of 53mpg. The GTD also emits 139g/km of CO2.

The VW Golf GTD will be available with a six-speed manual gearbox or optional DSG semi-automatic gearbox.

The car is expected to go on sale in the UK later this year. As yet, UK prices have not been revealed, however the car costs ?27,475 in Germany.
