508 reveals Peugeot's stylish new face

Date: 13 July 2010

Peugeot has released the first images of its new upper medium competitor, with the 508 also revealing the French firm's new design look.

On sale in the UK next spring, the 508 will arrive in saloon and estate variants, and a 200hp 99g/km hybrid version is due next summer. All the standard petrol and diesel versions will be fitted with the firm's stop-start system that it claims cuts fuel consumption by up to 15%.

At 4790mm, the 508 saloon is around 100mm longer than the four-door 407 it replaces. For comparison, a Ford Mondeo hatchback is 4778mm.
