Auto Windscreens extends hours to help fleets

Date: 24 March 2010

Auto Windscreens has extended its glass repair and replacement hours to ease pressure on the fleet industry.

The firm has changed its hours to 8am - 8pm, seven days a week for its 700-strong mobile service fleet.

It said the new operational hours means customers can choose a time and date for glass replacement and repairs to fit around their working and social life and not incur out-of-hours charges.

Sales and marketing director Nigel Davies said: "Traditionally, the automotive glazing services industry's core hours have been Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm and any work completed outside these hours incurs additional costs.

"By extending our hours we are giving fleets more opportunity to control their cost base."

The new extended hours for glass repair and replacement services were a factor in Lex Autolease's decision to appoint Auto Windscreens as its key supplier of glass until 2013.

Rick Francis, operations director at Lex Autolease, said: "Offering opening hours from 8am until 8pm delivers a greater level of flexibility to our customers, ensuring that they don't have to disrupt their working day to undertake non-essential repairs."
