Avis launches iPhone app for car hire

Avis has launched an iPhone application for phone users to search for vehicles, obtain quotes and book hire cars.
The app also uses GPS technology to enable customers to find the nearest Avis location and stores the user's preferences, favourite destinations, details and settings to make repeat bookings easier.
Nick Mountfield, head of marketing at Avis UK, said: "We are committed to offering our customers the most convenient and seamless service possible.
"The Avis app is further evidence of our desire to listen to and respond to our customers' needs. Catering for both business and leisure travellers across the country, we believe that offering UK travellers the chance to reserve cars on the move will help boost business from our 100-plus UK locations."
