BMW: No plans for more sub 110g/km models

Date: 15 March 2010

BMW has no plans to introduce its sub-110g/km Efficient Dynamics engine to any more models but said the next logical step would be the 1-series.

"The focus for the 320d Efficient Dynamics is on the saloon only," said a BMW spokesman.

He said it would chart the model's progress before looking at other options.

On sale this week, the 320d Efficient Dynamics is the first in the premium executive car sector which has CO2 emissions below 110g/km.

With fuel economy of 68.9mpg and 13% BIK, it is expected to be a popular choice for company car drivers.

The carmaker hopes to sell around 2,000 models in its first full year.
