Driver safety is a growing concern for fleet managers according to a survey which shows more than half consider it a priority and major challenge.
The research by telematics firm Trimble also showed only a third of fleet managers believed technology can help with driver safety.
The company said recent leaps in telematics technology have allowed employers to monitor their drivers' location, status and driving behaviour far more easily.
Trimble managing director Andrew Yeoman added: "One of the best ways to identify poor driving practices and change them before it is too late is through technology.
