Enterprise's Rob Ingam

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is to increase the level of available reporting back to companies regarding the environmental impact of their hire, with work underway on a more detailed system that will be launched later this year.

The BusinessCar Award-winning rental firm wants to help customers assess its emissions from business travel, aware that more and more firms are needing to report figures as part of a wider environmental impact assessment of a firm's operation.

"We can report back on CO2 but we're trying to take it to another level," Enterprise assistant vice president of business development Rob Ingram told BusinessCar. "We'd like to put an average figure next to the car class but we need to figure out the logistics and make sure it's as accurate as possible."

Enterprise has increased its fleet size and market share over the past 12 months despite the recession, and will expand its sites by 22 to take the total to more than 350 by the end of July.
