Fewer delays in London traffic

Date: 07 July 2010

Business drivers in London will face less traffic delays after Transport for London reviewed more than a 1000 traffic light sequences.

TfL said there is an almost 6% reduction in traffic delays for motorists without holding up pedestrians.

Around 145 traffic signal sites are also being considered for removal to help smooth traffic flow.

The organisation will review timings of a further 1000 traffic signals this year and over the next four years to "ensure that the capital's signals are operating in the best possible way for both drivers and pedestrians".
