Citroen has unveiled its new lower medium C4 hatchback, with the car set to arrive in the UK early next year.

The five-door C4 is claimed to have the biggest boot in its class at 408 litres, and the new model is 50mm longer, 20mm wider and 30mm taller than the current version, which has struggled to tempt corporate buyers out of more mainstream rivals.

One innovation coming with the new C4 is a system called eTouch, which will enable drivers to monitor their driving patterns and fuel economy, as well as being given advice on how to improve their consumption.

The firm has promised a 109g/km version from launch, with a 99g/km alternative in the pipeline, and other technology on offer will include blind-spot warning, cornering lights and lane-departure warning.
