The start point for the best source of fleet information

Ford still tops fleet sector

Date: 15 March 2010

Ford continues to reign supreme in the fleet sales market with 7671 units sold in February compared to 6932 for the same month last year.

While Vauxhall comfortably holds the second position from Volkswagen, there was a 28% decrease in registrations for the Luton-based carmaker.

French manufacturers are showing the most marked improvement with Peugeot, Citroen and Renault all improving sales from last February by at least 71%.

Unsurprisingly, the Ford Focus still is the most popular fleet car with 2674 sold, a slight fall on last year's 2808 units.

The equally ubiquitous Fiesta is in second place with an almost 10% improvement on volume from February 2009.

Ford has even managed to outsell the supermini Corsa with its upper segment Mondeo which sold 1322 models compared to only 828 units for the same month last year.

The Citroen C4, in seventh place, has also done well, increasing fleet sales from 487 to 988 cars.

Overall, fleet sales have remained fairly stable with 34,074 units sold in February 2009, compared to 35,540 vehicles in the same month this year - an increase of 4.3%.
