Ford unveils Mondeo facelift

Date: 02 July 2010

Ford has unveiled its Mondeo facelift, on sale in October in the UK.

Two new engines - a 239hp turbo petrol engine and a 199hp 2.2-litre TDCi diesel engine - will be available alongside the existing line-up.

New technology on the updated upper-medium car includes lane departure warning, auto high beam, driver alert and regenerative charging.

Ford of Europe boss John Fleming said: "The Ford Mondeo is already a very strong package and, with the significant design changes and in particular the comprehensive array of new technologies we are introducing, we have no doubt that the new model will strengthen Mondeo's position as the flagship Ford model in our European line-up.

"This is the smartest, safest, most environmentally friendly and best quality Mondeo we have ever launched, and it completes the regeneration of our bigger cars in 2010."

Mondeo powertrains, specs and prices available in Britain will be announced nearer to launch.
