Kia wins deal to supply 92 Ceeds

Date: 11 February 2010

Kia and dealer Brindley Kia of Wolverhampton have secured a deal to supply 92 cars over three years to Avery Berkel, a supplier of retail weighing solutions.

The fleet of Ceed EcoDynamics SW estates will be used by the company's network of service engineers.

The cars are fitted with ISG stop-start technology, automatically shutting the engine down when the car is at a standstill and in neutral.

Avery Berkel re-evaluated its vehicle fleet to help improve customer response times and environmental credentials: "For our retail customers, equipment downtime has a negative impact on store profitability," said service director Dan McToal.

He added: "Ensuring that our technicians are equipped with the latest technology is vital to our service delivery and investing in the Kia car fleet is a key part of this process - helping us provide our customers with the assurance that we will arrive on schedule."

Debbie Weaver, fleet administrator at Avery Berkel said the company was also looking to minimise carbon footprint, fuel consumption levels and reduce costs for the business."

Weaver said Kia's seven-year warranty was a "clincher".
