Longer Toyota warranty not for fleets

Date: 29 March 2010

Longer Toyota warranty not for fleets

Toyota is extending its warranty from three to five years across its model range until the end of June - but the offer is only open to retail customers and fleets operating 25 vehicles or less. To qualify, small fleets must buy direct from their local dealer.

The move intends to reinforce customer confidence following Toyota's much-publicised model recalls due to a fault with the accelerator pedal.

Customers can choose between the warranty extension or a free three-year service plan.

Toyota MD Miguel Fonseca said: "This great new programme not only represents superb value for our customers, it gives them complete peace of mind around their choice of vehicle. It also underpins the principle of trouble-free motoring that's characteristic of Toyota's products."
