Mercedes puts brakes on speedsters

Date: 29 November 2010

Mercedes has introduced a new fuel saving device to put the brakes on heavy footed van drivers.

Image ExcelArate was developed by Zeta Automotive in conjunction with Mercedes-Benz UK.

The device works by suppressing the speed of unladen vehicles and makes them behave as they would when carrying a 60% load.

Mercedes claimed the device could cut fuel consumption by up to 15%.
