Police scheme appoints Interactive Fleet Management

Date: 09 December 2010

V85p, a membership society of 400,000 current and retired police officers, has chosen the newly launched Interactive Fleet Management to run its driver affinity scheme.

Leasing company Alphabet will support IFM to supply V85p members with specially negotiated personal contract hire deals covering all makes and models.

V85p utilizes the combined buying power of its membership to secure favourable deals on services.

IFM said the new affinity scheme offers benefits such as no deposit, low monthly rentals and the option to include maintenance.

Launched on 1 November, IFM is an independently operated business backed by the Grosvenor Group of Companies, which also owns Grosvenor Contracts. It is headed up by Stuart Menzies, commercial director, and Jayne Pett, operations director.

Menzies said: "In recent years we've seen a growing demand for the type of professional fleet management that encompasses vehicle management, driver management and supplier management.

"This has partly emerged due to economic conditions and the pressure this has placed on funding and cost control, but also as a result of other areas such as the growing grey fleet market, ever-stringent duty of care obligations, green issues, rising fuel prices and a need for greater fleet flexibility which all combine to make fleet management a far bigger challenge for businesses than ever before," he added.
