The start point for the best source of fleet information

Remarketing trade body launches

Date: 08 March 2010

A trade association for the vehicle remarketing industry has been launched after two years of planning.

Members of the Vehicle Remarketing Association include Lex Autolease, Lombard, Manheim, Cap, BCA, Inchcape Retail and Autologic.

The chairman, John Davies, was previously managing director of Lloyds TSB Asset Finance and is now a non-executive director of Autologic.

VRA has laid out three areas to focus on: industry best practice, learning and development and resolution of industry matters.

Davies said: "When you consider how large and influential the sector is, it's amazing it has not had its own trade body before to represent the diverse range of activities which remarketing comprises.

"We have thought very carefully about where we can drive improvement and properly engage in this important area of the automotive industry which is often over-looked."

Recruitment of members is now underway and will include remarketing service providers, fleet operators, leasing and rental companies, manufacturers and dealer groups.
