Renault launches SMR product for vans

Renault is introducing an SMR product for LCVs.
iCare will be paid for on a pence-per-mile basis and allows mileage and position to be monitored via telematics.
Scheduled and non-scheduled events, for example a service, can be proactively managed to reduce downtime, said Payne. For a three-year, 100,000-mile van, iCare will cost around 4.5ppm.
Fleet boss Darren Payne said that iCare was mainly aimed at those making outright purchases as the carmaker does not "want to upset contract hire companies we work with" (which have similar products). "We don't want to compete with the industry," he added.
