Renault's Wind aimed at Peugeot 207CC

Date: 02 February 2010

Renault is gunning for Peugeot's coupe-cabriolet 207 CC with its new Wind baby convertible.

Arriving late this summer with a choice of 1.2 100PS or 1.6 133PS petrol engines, the wind will be priced squarely at its French rival, which means a starting point of around £16,000.

Renault claims its Wind will be aimed at drivers who "lust after a car that is not only distinctive and compact, but also convertible and practical enough for everyday use". The firm said the Wind is the only car in its class that retains the same boot space - 270 cubic metres - whether the metal roof is up or down.
