Insurer RSA has updated its FleetActive service by introducing features which allow firms to assess driver behaviour, improve driving skills and protect against fraudulent claims.
RSA said FleetActive "helps to reduce the frequency of accidents involving fleet vehicles and drivers and minimises the hidden costs from replacement vehicle hire charges, loss of customer service standards and replacement drivers".
The company said drivers' skills and capabilities can be improved with development packages, workshops and driver coaching courses, such as fuel efficiency training.
It added that the service offers psychometric testing for fleet drivers to identify those that are at the greatest risk of an accident and licence checking to ensure drivers are appropriately qualified and do not have a high number of points or penalties.
David Geer, global UK business director said: "The FleetActive solution is designed to help risk managers and fleet owners drive down the costs of operating their fleets.
"By analysing a fleet's operation and claims trends, we can take appropriate action to improve skills and scheduling in order to minimise future losses and prevent reoccurring incidents."
