The start point for the best source of fleet information

Superminis shine at auction

Date: 16 November 2010

Used values in the supermini fleet sector were up by 9.2% on September to an average £3535 last month, compared with a market that was 1.7% up to £6036, according to Manheim Remarketing. Other sectors on the up included compact executive models, up 3.0% to £8154, and 4x4s up by 6.7% to an average £12,427. Heading in the other direction were mini-MPVs down 1.9% to £4830, and MPVs down 4.6% to £6287.

"October has continued in much the same vein as September with no huge influx of volumes impacting on either pricing or conversion rates, but buyers are becoming more selective with clean, low-mileage and well-specified vehicles attracting greater interest," said Manheim Remarketing MD Mike Pilkington. "We are now entering one of the toughest retail periods of the year for used cars, as the market eases in the early winter months and retail demand traditionally tails off. It is vital that vendors set realistic reserves to move stock quickly."
