Tracker seeks partners to build new fleet management system

Date: 03 June 2010

Tracker is looking to develop working partnerships with specialist firms in order to build a new fleet management system.

The vehicle tracking and telematics company's managing director, Stephen Doran, who took over from Bill Raynal at the end of 2009, is hoping to capitalise on his previous expertise, including time with computing giant Apple, to build a fresh approach to telematics.

Doran is looking to build what he called an "ecosystem" where Tracker would work in partnership with specialist companies in linked sectors such as sales force logistics and vehicle scheduling.

Talks about forming partnerships are in the very early stages, but Doran admits it could be a challenge. "The industry isn't particularly open to collaborations, but it's early days to be disheartened," he said. "One of the major differences is I'll come wanting a solution by being willing to share profits."

Doran concluded: "The target is that by the year-end we will have a revamped base core service website and get integration with a sales force management tool and vehicle scheduling integration."
