Vauxhall Flextreme stars at Geneva

Date: 02 March 2010

Vauxhall has unveiled a concept to showcase its eco-technology called the Flextreme.

With performance and technology similar to that of the Ampera, the 4.7m long Flextreme has a battery-powered driving range of up to 40 miles and a total range of over 300 miles. Average fuel consumption is estimated at 175mpg, with CO2 emissions of less than 40g/km.

The four-door GT car uses range-extension technology which means the while the wheels are driven by an electric motor the batteries can be both charged by plugging in or by the on-board petrol engine generator.
