VW reveals hybrid plans

Date: 17 May 2010

VW will launch a hybrid Jetta in 2012 and hybrid versions of the Golf and Passat in 2013, following the Touareg Hybrid that goes on sale this summer.

Also in 2013, VW will launch its first electric vehicle, the Up! Blue-e-motion, followed closely by Golf and Jetta Blue-e-motion models. The 114hp Golf Blue-e-motion will reach a top speed of 86mph and have a range of 90 miles. A fleet of 500 prototype Golfs will begin testing in 2011 ahead of production two years later.
